1. Start PrEP

Your PrEP journey starts with a visit to your regular doctor. If your doctor needs help with prescribing PrEP, we have a letter for doctors you can download and take to your appointment.

If you don't have a regular doctor who can prescribe you PrEP, you can find a PrEP-friendly doctor or nurse practitioner on our map.

There are also online PrEP doctors if you can't make it to a clinic!

When you see your doctor or nurse practitioner, they will arrange to run a few tests for:

  • HIV

  • Kidney function

  • Other STIs

During your visit, you will get a prescription for PrEP to start preventing HIV right away.
