You must have an HIV test to start PrEP. Your doctor will also test you for other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Don’t worry, you can get a prescription and start PrEP right away – and get any STI treatment you need.
You can ask about vaccinations for sexual health like hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and HPV – and even COVID-19.
3. Take PrEP

Return to your doctor for regular HIV and STI screening, and to get a new prescription to keep taking PrEP.
